Phyllis Chesler
Disinvited: Battling Antisemitism on the Front Lines
video release: June 16, 2023
Phyllis Chesler is an American writer, psychotherapist, and professor emerita of psychology and women's studies at the College of Staten Island (CUNY). She is a renowned second-wave feminist and the prolific author of 20 books, including Women and Madness (1972), With Child: A Diary of Motherhood (1979), The New Antisemitism (2003), An American Bride in Kabul: A Memoir (2013), Islamic Gender Apartheid: Exposing a Veiled War Against Women (2017), and A Politically Incorrect Feminist (2018).
Since 9/11, Dr. Chesler's work has focused on antisemitism and the demonization of Israel; the psychology of terrorism; the nature of propaganda; the rights of women, dissidents, and gay people in the Islamic world; and honour-related violence. Read about her recent rescue work saving women from the Taliban after the American retreat from Afghanistan.
She will speak to us about her experience fighting antisemitism and anti-Zionism on the frontlines for so many decades.
The lecture will be video recorded in New York and sent out to ticket holders to watch at their convenience.
